To mark World Mental Health Day on October 10, Gemini Park Tychy, in collaboration with the Tychy City Hall and the Municipal Cultural Center, organized a week-long series of workshops and events dedicated to health awareness, particularly aimed at youth.
– Supporting health awareness is a key priority for us – emphasizes Aleksandra Zawodzińska, Marketing Director at Gemini Park Tychy. – Raising social sensitivity to challenging yet crucial topics, such as the struggles faced by young people, is a mission our shopping center is proud to undertake. This initiative reflects Gemini Holding’s overarching strategy, and we are honored to contribute to significant public health objectives – she adds.
Under the theme “I’m OK,” Mental Health Awareness Week (October 7–12) focused on youth mental health. The event at the Tychy shopping center offered a variety of valuable activities, including workshops, lectures, film screenings, and sessions with psychologists, engaging over 400 participants. Additional activities open to the general public were held on October 10 and 12.
On October 10, the spotlight was on mental health with a range of activities, including a public talk by Katarzyna Bosacka titled “How to Stay Resilient,” consultations with experts from the Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Center, and a discussion with the founder of the “Teen Haven” initiative. The day concluded with a relaxing concert organized by the Municipal Cultural Center.
October 12 provided a comprehensive focus on health, with free consultations and screenings available on-site. Over 1,200 participants engaged in various activities, including psychological and psychiatric consultations, physiotherapy sessions, first aid demonstrations, and meetings with the Amazonki breast cancer support group. Visitors also attended health-focused lectures, while children enjoyed interactive activities featuring characters from the “Tyszaki” cartoon and participated in prize-winning contests.
The campaign’s slogan, “I’m OK,” and its graphic design were inspired by the “Empowering Words Mosaics” project by local artist Aneta Mlaś, known as Touanda. Supported by the Tychy Bank of Culture 2023, this multi-dimensional project includes five mosaic artworks designed to uplift individuals in need of acceptance and support. These mosaics, central to Tychy’s architectural heritage, symbolize both the event’s theme and the city’s local identity.
Gemini Holding, the owner of three shopping centers, places strong emphasis on addressing social issues as part of its long-term strategy. These initiatives aim to integrate local communities and support impactful projects. Health awareness campaigns are also underway at Gemini Park Bielsko-Biała, promoting physical activity for all age groups, and at Gemini Park Tarnów, which recently hosted a major anniversary run encouraging sports participation. All these activities are rooted in partnerships with local government institutions.
Gemini Holding continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering health, well-being, and community engagement, ensuring its centers are more than just shopping destinations—they are integral parts of the local community.
